FICSI celebrates vishwakarma diwas on 17th September 2022. Skill Convocation ceremony held at the premise of Ferrero India Limited, Maharashtra and Britannia Nutrition Foundation, Gwalior, MP. FICSI conducted FoSTaC training for the following:i) Online FoSTaC Basic Catering for Akshayapatra Foundation.ii) FoSTaC Basic Retail and Distribution for Women SHG at New Delhi.
Experts from FICSI conducted 3-Days training program for women empowered Self Help Groups (supported by Britannia Nutrition Foundation) on Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety & Hygiene and Life Skills in Village Barai, Distt Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh from 16-18 Aug 2022.
FICSI successfully organised an onsite Training Program on Allergen Management for Patanjali Ayurveda limited on 3rd August 2022. This interactive training session was attended by 40 participants from various departments and was very well received by them. Our trainer Dr mamta Prajapati madam ensured that the candidates receive an optimum learning experience.

Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) organized first ever webinar of it’s kind for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows (MGNFs) on Skill project in Food Processing Sector at the district level across the nation on 22nd June,2022. The following are the agenda points were discussed under the webinar:i) Introduction of FICSI and its involvement in the skilling ecosystemii) Discussion with MGNFs on how FICSI’s activities can be converged with the MGN Fellow’s activities at the district levelApprox. 200 MGN Fellows participated in the webinar and shared their queries about the Skill Training in Food Processing sector, the required support and employment and entrepreneurship opportunities etc. CEO, FICSI – Mr. Sunil K Marwah shared the insightful information related to importance of the Food Processing sector and potential for the youth in this sector.

On the Occasion of WORLD FOOD SAFETY DAY 2022 FICSI organized an introductory online session on FSSC 22000 Version 5 to 5.1 held on 07th June 2022 at 03 PM. Food safety is indispensable for food which is vital for life. World Food Safety Day on 7 June, this year follows its fourth edition, was celebrated with the theme- Safer Food, Better Health. This day is an opportunity to strengthen efforts to ensure that the food we eat is safe, mainstream food safety in the public agenda and reduce the burden of foodborne diseases globally. On the occasion of “WORLD FOOD SAFETY DAY 2022” FICSI had organized an introductory online session on “FSSC 22000 Version 5 to 5.1” reaching out to the universities, schools and workplaces to include food safety education training as a part of professional development. Successfully organized 14th webinar on Food Licensing & Registration of Food Businesses (FoSCoS) under the series of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. 1300+ registrations accepted for this interactive session and more than 350 participants attended on our YouTube Live channel and MS Teams platform. Webinar threw insight of basic requirements for registration and license for FBO's. Proper Clarification was provided regarding frequency and mandatory requirements of water testing. The confusion pertaining to modification of license was cleared up. Also endorsement for fortified and organic foods was discussed in detail. Speaker1. Shri. FICSI has organized a conference with Skill Training Providers working under Food Processing sector at India Habitat Center on 20th May, 2022. Plan for increasing the skill training in Food Processing for youth of the nation was discussed along with sope of livelihood enhancement projects under different Government and Private Programs.

The agenda of the meeting is on comprehensive recommendations and a road map to bring about a robust skill ecosystem across the Andhra Pradesh state to maximize the benefits to both formal and non-formal students in providing gainful employment including entrepreneurship.

FICSI is proud to announce that it has signed MoU with Indo German Chamber of Commerce to establish Centres of Excellence in Bakery subsector and other related products. This MoU will facilitate implementation of international standard of skilling in India and trainer, student exchange program between India and Germany.

FICSI registered more than 1000 participants for attending seminar on Latest Trends in Packaging for Food Processing. This session was informative session for food professionals/students that will apprise their knowledge about the recent advancements going on in the food packaging industry. Cost Effective packaging technology for Food Processing MSME and FSSAI guideline on packaging and labeling will be some of the topics covered in this session.
KSDA - Interactive session with Sector Skill Councils - in Bangalore - Karnataka Skill Development Authority. FICSI participated in this interactive session in the eminent presence of Chief Guest Dr. S. Selvakumar, IAS, Secretary Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department and Smt. K. Ratna Prabha, IAS, (R) Chairperson, KSDA, GoK along with other dignitaries form skill ecosystem.
Exchanged MOU with UKSDM and FICSI, in Summer capital of Uttarakhand Gairsain in presence of Shri Dhan Singh Rawat (Minister of state independent charge, Cooperatives, Higher Education, Dairy Development, Protocols), Mission Director UKSDM, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar and other eminent members from skilling ecosystem. A backward and forward linkage is must for any skilling initiative to be successful.
FICSI has signed MOU With Tea Research Association (TOCKLAI) and will mutually cooperate for Identifying job roles, creating learning material and skilling manpower for employability with Required industrial skill and certification in tea processing industry in india.
We have done certification of 6 Indian Army Troops to start with as a pilot project as Bakery Technician/Operative conforming to National Skill qualifications framework level-4. Bakery management course which they run in Chandimandir Military Cantt is a 10 days course for retiring troops so that they can start and manage a small bakery once they get retired.

'FSSAI's initiative to combine their current courses with COVID-19 guidelines is a great strength to the food industry' Another successful virtual training conducted for the course- FoSTaC "Basic Catering and COVID-19" on 22nd October 2020 with the participation of around 14 candidates. This training course is based on giving more insights on precautions for the food industry in day to day working as well as the current scenario.

FICSI organised an interactive session for the colleges who wish to apply under the B. Voc (Food Processing) scheme. The session focused on UGC applications to run Skill- based programs in Food Processing for the academic year 2020-21.
In recognition of World Food Safety 2020, FICSI organised Special session for Food Safety & Hygiene Professionals engaged in Manufacturing, Compliance, Education & Training on Safe Practices during COVID-19. Both the sessions saw the participation of 350+ attendees. The sessions were found very interactive & insightful by all the attendees.
FICSI launched the E-learning platform “FICSI eLearning Zone” on 1 st June’2020 through a virtual webinar. Two special courses are designed and developed for “Safe Practices for Retailers handling Food and Safe Practices for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises manufacturing Food during COVID-19 pandemic. These courses are prepared in association with FSSAI, FICCI, NIFTEM and various Industry Partners. The Chief Guest for the event were Mr. Dilip Chenoy, Secretary General,FICCI. Guests of Honour were Dr C. Vasudevappa, Vice Chancellor, NIFTEM and Mr Akshay Bector, President, FICSI. CMD, Cremica Food Industries Ltd. The event saw the presence of 400+ attendees.
